The International Center for Law and Economics (ICLE), a nonprofit, nonpartisan think tank and policy research center, is looking for a full-time Director of Competition Policy, preferably in (or willing to relocate to) the Portland, OR area. Law degree and/or economics degree, as well as previous experience in academia and/or policy research required. Highly competitive salary, excellent benefits, and a flexible schedule (including the possibility of remote work). Some travel and public speaking are required.
Working with a roster of more than fifty academic affiliates and research centers from around the globe, ICLE develops and disseminates academic, scholarly, and popular output to build the intellectual foundation for rigorous, economically-grounded policy.
We are seeking a strategically-minded Director of Competition Policy to help us leverage the combined expertise of our affiliated scholars and internal staff in an effort to develop ICLE’s Antitrust Research Program into the definitive source for policy-relevant thinking rooted in the law & economics of antitrust and competition policy. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated commitment to advancing the law & economics tradition represented by scholars like Armen Alchian, Harold Demsetz, Ronald Coase, Oliver Williamson, and Frank Easterbrook.
