The American Institute for Economic Research (AIER) is seeking a researcher or policy expert in monetary policy and macroeconomics with demonstrated knowledge of monetary system reforms that promote sound money to join AIER’s priority focus area (PFA) of Monetary Economics.
The holder of this position will help implement the PFA’s strategic vision by producing research (articles, white papers, and op-eds) for policy and public audiences as well as engaging in public speaking and media outreach.
This position will work with researchers and policy experts, including AIER’s Sound Money Project, and contribute to collaborative efforts across AIER at our campus in Great Barrington, Massachusetts.
The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated track record of producing high-quality research; and/or policy papers; and/or public-facing intellectual engagement that analyzes the weaknesses in contemporary monetary policy and institutions and promotes monetary reforms that support economic freedom and a free society. Core research areas for this position include monetary policy, monetary theory, monetary operating frameworks, monetary targets and rules, and monetary transmission mechanisms. Strong public intellectual and research writing, public speaking, and editorial skills are highly desired.
