About the Role:
Philanthropy Roundtable is seeking a Donor Relations Associate to assist the Roundtable’s development team with donor relationships and multi-team donor initiatives. We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual who would thrive in a fast-paced environment and is eager to support a mission-driven fundraising team.
The Donor Relations Associate will report to the Assistant Director of Major Gifts. This role will be expected to work from the Roundtable’s Washington, DC office at least 3 days a week.

Job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Develop and execute comprehensive fundraising plans and strategies to engage a portfolio of donors with giving under $5,000 through proactive, identification, cultivation, stewardship, solicitation, and growth (exceptions for higher level giving when appropriate)
- Develop tailored “moves management” plans, conducting virtual meetings for assigned donors to build relationships and secure renewed or increased support to meet or exceed annual fundraising goals
- Work with Assistant Director of Major Gifts to set personal fundraising goals, track performance, analyze data, and prepare reports to demonstrate progress and impact
- Write and contribute to compelling proposals, impact reports, and stewardship materials for donors and foundations within portfolio
- Act as the development team’s liaison to the marketing & communications, event, policy and government affairs, and programs teams to coordinate donor-related organizational initiatives and events
- Collaborate with the Development Operations Associate on conducting research on current or prospective donors including biographical research, wealth screenings, donation history, and more to support events, webinars, and as needed for donor travel
- Represent the organization at donor and organization hosted events, primarily the Roundtable’s Annual Meeting, and attend strategic functions to further relationship-building and donor visibility as needed
- Suggest process improvements to enhance team function, drawing on donor feedback, internal collaboration, and a strategic view of what drives fundraising success
- Other duties as assigned by the Assistant Director of Major Gifts and senior leadership
Qualifications
- 1-3+ years of professional experience in fundraising/development-related field. Exceptional undergraduate or internship experience in fundraising/development will be considered
- Alignment with the mission of Philanthropy Roundtable
- Ability to travel, up to 5%
- Strong communication skills
- Working knowledge of development processes, particularly in donor solicitation
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to work independently and as a team
- Strong attention to detail and quality control
- Solutions oriented – ready to suggest improvements and enhancements as needed and carry these suggestions through to completion
- Strong computer skills: excellent use of Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Teams and Excel
- Experience with a CRM database such as Salesforce or Raiser’s Edge is helpful, but not necessary
- Travel for Philanthropy Roundtable’s Annual Meeting and other occasional travel as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in related field
Compensation
The projected salary range for this role is $55,000-65,000. This salary is contingent upon the specific experience and qualifications of the selected candidate.
