Defending Education is a national grassroots organization working to reclaim our schools from activists imposing harmful agendas. Through network and coalition building, investigative reporting, litigation, and engagement on local, state, and national policies, we are fighting indoctrination in the classroom — and promoting the restoration of a healthy, non-political education for our kids.

DE receives tips from around the country, investigating leads and filing Freedom of Information Act requests to connect the dots; files complaints with the Department of Education; and, when necessary, files lawsuits to hold schools accountable for violating students’ civil rights.

Director of Talent Engagement – Moving Picture Institute – Virtual

The Moving Picture Institute (MPI) is seeking a director of talent engagement, who will play a vital role in shaping and engaging the organization’s filmmaker network. MPI creates high-impact films designed to entertain, inspire, and educate audiences with captivating stories about human freedom. The director of talent engagement will carry out specific objectives of MPI’s talent incubator, the Rising Filmmaker Program, which includes the Hollywood Career Launch Program (MPI’s internship program). The director will maintain MPI’s alumni database of over 650 filmmakers as well as conduct alumni outreach. This position reports to the senior vice president.

MPI was founded in 2005 on the belief that stories can change the world. MPI’s full-time team of experienced producers and dedicated support staff work with and manage a network of hundreds of filmmakers and contractors annually to advance MPI’s mission by producing MPI Original Films and launching the careers of talented filmmakers. MPI films screen at top festivals and gain wide distribution on popular streamers such as Netflix and Hulu. Recent films include Pinball: The Man Who Saved the Game, which the New Yorker called “one of the best [ten] films of 2023,” and Motherland, a dystopian sci-fi film currently on the festival circuit. Legal Insurrection Foundation (LIF)  is a dynamic and rapidly expanding non-profit launched in March 2019, comprised of three projects that interact with and complement each other: (1) The Legal Insurrection Blog founded in 2008, our flagship public facing media entity with deep reach and an earned reputation as ‘disrupters’ of conventional narratives, known for conducting high profile long-term investigations and news coverage, and fighting for free speech on campuses and against cancel culture and the intersectional left; (2) CriticalRace.org, launched in February 2021, a research group focused on CRT and its variants, such as DEI, with unparalleled and authoritative interactive databases documenting the racialization of education, covering over 700 institutions, and cited over 175 times by other media; and (3) the Equal Protection Project (EPP) (EqualProtect.org), launched in February 2023, created to litigate against the DEI discrimination uncovered through our blog and CRT research, which is off to a very impactful start with over 70 cases, and massive earned media in EPP’s first two years. We provide consulting and recruiting services at no cost to 501(c)3 nonprofit organizations that clearly and directly focus on advancing the principles of economic freedom, free enterprise, free trade, free speech, property rights, rule of law, and limited regulation. (We do not work with political organizations, organizations with mission statements that do not clearly advance free-market principles, organizations that focus on social issues, or organizations that have a focus outside of the United States. We are not a job board. ) 

Talent Market believes that the road to prosperity is paved with freedom and that the success of our movement hinges on the talent that will take us there.
