Senior Researcher – Legal Insurrection Foundation – Virtual

April 4, 2025

About Legal Insurrection Foundation

Legal Insurrection Foundation (LIF) is a dynamic and rapidly expanding non-profit launched in March 2019, comprised of three projects that interact with and complement each other: (1) The Legal Insurrection Blog founded in 2008, our flagship public facing media entity with deep reach and an earned reputation as ‘disrupters’ of conventional narratives, known for conducting high profile long-term investigations and news coverage, and fighting for free speech on campuses and against cancel culture and the intersectional left; (2) CriticalRace.org, launched in February 2021, a research group focused on CRT and its variants, such as DEI, with unparalleled and authoritative interactive databases documenting the racialization of education, covering over 700 institutions, and cited over 175 times by other media; and (3) the Equal Protection Project (EPP) (EqualProtect.org), launched in February 2023, created to litigate against the DEI discrimination uncovered through our blog and CRT research, which is off to a very impactful start with over 70 cases, and massive earned media in EPP’s first two years. The combination of our platforms and earned media reaches tens of millions of people.

About the Role

The Legal Insurrection Foundation seeks an experienced, motivated, and dynamic researcher to join the team. This position will involve initiating, developing, and coordinating projects addressing the variety of issues handled by LIF and its projects, with a heavy focus on countering underlying anti-American, anti-Capitalist, anti-Christian, and antisemitic ideologies such as intersectionality, critical race theory, decolonization, and the Red-Green alliance. An ability to turn research into usable media end products on a timely basis is essential, as well as the ability to identify, work with, and edit contract researchers to expand our opportunities. There may be opportunities for media appearances to expand our reach.

This is a position with great opportunity for growth as LIF continues to expand. We are seeking someone to help us grow and to grow with us. The Senior Researcher will report to the President and the Operations Director.

  • Participate in speaking, conferences, and other engagements
  • Conduct Investigations, including using FOIA and state equivalents as needed and in conjunction with EPP attorneys
  • Outreach to and interact with other researchers and experts
  • Willingness to do media appearances a plus

Requirements

  • 4+ years of relevant research experience
  • Outstanding interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent writing and editing skills
  • Prior knowledge and writing on ideologies identified above a plus

Wait, You’re a Nonprofit?

Talent Market is a nonprofit. We’ll wait here while that sinks in. We know it’s a crazy concept, but it’s been working like a charm since 2009.

Talent Market’s mission is to promote liberty by providing talent for critical roles within the free-market nonprofit sector.

We provide consulting and recruiting services at no cost to 501(c)3 nonprofit organizations that clearly and directly focus on advancing the principles of economic freedom, free enterprise, free trade, free speech, property rights, rule of law, and limited regulation. (We do not work with political organizations, organizations with mission statements that do not clearly advance free-market principles, organizations that focus on social issues, or organizations that have a focus outside of the United States. We are not a job board. )

Talent Market believes that the road to prosperity is paved with freedom and that the success of our movement hinges on the talent that will take us there.
