CCHF is a non-partisan, free-market organization that promotes policy ideas consistent with the principles of limited government, individual liberty and free markets. Recognized as the leading free-market voice for patient-centered care and medical privacy rights, CCHF’s primary area of focus is health care policy, with an emphasis on freedom, free-markets and the medical privacy rights that protect patient and doctor freedom.
Position Description
CCHF is seeking a creative and dynamic Director of Programs to lead the organization forward and navigate a constantly changing landscape. This position will be responsible for planning, organizing, and executing CCHF’s strategic initiatives under the direction of the President, and will have 2 direct reports.
Major Areas of Responsibility
- Oversee implementation of projects in a strategic plan that, as approved by the President and the Board, accomplishes CCHF’s mission to protect patient and doctor freedom
- Work with President to develop programs and projects that align with CCHF’s mission, seeking conspicuous opportunities
- Own and direct all projects and outward facing initiatives – keep the team on track
- Work with Legislative and Policy Director to advance legislative projects
- Be available to speak in videos, radio spots, and interviews (at discretion of President)
- Develop and implement fundraising campaigns in collaboration with development staff
- In partnership with our vendor, identify projects and initiatives for funding and approve grant opportunities. Track metrics on programs for grant partners
- Approve new outside vendors and contractors
- Assist in hiring decisions
- Manage (high-level) annual Fundraising Gala and other CCHF events throughout the year
- Work with Communications staff to oversee the CCHF website, expand social media presence and maintain branding
- Proof/edit/approve outgoing communications to ensure they are on message and without blemish (“bulletproof”)
- Work with Director of Operations to ensure CCHF remains in compliance (regulations, 990, insurance, and state filings)
- Other responsibilities as determined by the president
Required Knowledge and Skills
- 3+ years of relevant experience in non-profit management and/or project management
- Firm belief in the mission of CCHF and a belief that government should not control access to health care
- Solid understanding of Health Freedom issues and the legislative process
- Ability to absorb complicated issues quickly
- Self-motivated leader who is able to set clear and deliverable goals and campaigns
- Superb organizational and management skills
- Exceptional writing and editing skills
- A keen eye for verifying facts for accuracy
- A great communicator
- Ability to disseminate financial reports and basic understanding of accounting principles
Preferred Knowledge and Skills
- Demonstrated experience in non-profit leadership
- Experience reading and/or writing legislation
- Supervisory experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, management, policy, health care, or other related area
Work Environment
CCHF is located in Saint Paul, Minnesota and preference will be given to applicants residing in the Twin Cities metro area. Remote and hybrid arrangements will be considered for exceptional candidates. Remote candidates will be expected to travel to the office 1-3 times per year.
