The James Madison Institute (JMI) is a Florida-based research and educational organization whose ideas are rooted in a belief in the U.S. Constitution, limited government, economic freedom, federalism and individual liberty coupled with personal responsibility. The Institute’s mission is to keep the citizens of Florida informed about their government and to shape our state’s future through the advancement of practical free-market ideas on public policy issues.
Since its inception in 1987, the Institute has remained independent, non-profit and non-partisan. It makes no attempt to aid or hinder the passage of legislation nor does it accept government funds or respond to special pleadings from any sector.
About the Role
JMI is seeking a Director of the K. Earl Durden Center for the Advancement of Liberty. The K. Earl Durden Center for the Advancement of Liberty offers scholarly research, legislative education, testimony, connections to Florida policymakers, communications and media work, along with other needs that arise in specific states pursuing Florida’s successful policy efforts. In addition, the Center engages at the federal level to work with Congressional members and committees to promote the principles of federalism.

He or she should have the skills required to communicate clearly through spoken and written word.

- Continually update Blueprint FL and work with the development team to report on new states JMI is working in
