Position Summary
America’s Future seeks a talented and passionate new Chief Executive Officer who will continue to advance the mission of the organization and usher in the next phase of growth.
In 2025, AF will celebrate its 30th year. Heading into this season, the new CEO will chart a renewed vision and accelerate its direction—helping the organization reach the next level.
This role requires vision-setting, strategic leadership, outreach, executive presence, coaching, follow-through, and an entrepreneurial mindset. The ideal candidate will lead a national conversation about the future of the United States and the role younger generations play in bringing us there. The CEO is the primary face of America’s Future, representing the organization to both internal and external constituencies, including at events and in the media.
The CEO reports to the Board of Directors and will manage 3 full-time staff. The CEO has historically been DC-based, and presence in DC is a plus, but a remote employee will be considered with the expectation of regular travel to DC. In addition, the role involves about 30% travel for events and development activities.
Responsibilities
- Executive:
- Collaborate with the Board of Trustees to shape the vision of the organization
- Develop and execute the organization’s strategic plan, including clear metrics for success
- Represent America’s Future to a national audience
- Maintain and grow an engaged board of directors
- Directly manage 3 full-time staff and indirectly oversee part-time staff
- Fundraising
- Lead the development and execution of the fundraising plan
- Work closely with the Director of Development to ensure all fundraising goals are met or exceeded
- Cultivate and grow foundation, individual and corporate support through in-person meetings, Zoom calls, and regular interaction
- Work closely with program staff to ensure relevant metrics are being properly tracked and shared with donors
- Develop alternative revenue streams to diversify funding sources
- Financial Management
- Craft and grow the organization budget
- Work with an accounting firm to develop and review reports, conduct financial planning, and conduct the annual audit
- Execute an investment strategy for a strong financial position
- Provide oversight and budget maintenance across organization
- Review and approve all monthly financial statements and reports
- Programming
- Work with department directors to ensure programmatic implementation of strategic plan
- Provide oversight, coaching, and strategic guidance to ensure high-quality, effective programming
- Oversee flagship events, awards programs and the AF co-working space
- Oversee the overhaul and improvement of existing database to ensure AF members, allies, and partners are tracked and leveraged over the long-term
- HR
- Develop and maintain a positive, engaging culture
- Execute onboarding and offboarding of staff
- Manage payroll and benefits with the aid of an outside firm
- Maintain AF leader handbook
- Strategize for and grow staff in accordance with the budget and program growth
- Administration
- Maintain accounts with financial institutions
- Maintain insurance coverage
- Take charge by identifying solutions for team struggles
Qualifications

- 7+ years of work experience, including 3+ years of proven management experience and a track record of turning ideas into action
- Firm grounding in and commitment to the principles of liberty and the role it plays in human flourishing
- Proven fundraising experience
- Ability to provide visionary thought leadership on the role of young people in advancing freedom and human flourishing and execute on ideas
- Understanding of the importance of data and metrics to inform your work and communicate success to donors
- Familiarity with the “liberty movement” and key stakeholders
- Passion for uplifting and supporting others to succeed
- Entrepreneurial mindset
- Humility and a commitment to personal growth and continued learning
- Understanding and experience with local grassroots organizing is a plus
- Marketing, public relations and communications experience are a plus
Salary
The projected annual salary range for this role is $165,000-$225,000, contingent upon the specific skills and experience of the selected candidate. We are also willing to explore higher compensation for an exceptional candidate.
