The Economic Policy Innovation Center (EPIC) is hiring an Operations Manager.
EPIC develops and promotes economic policy to advance a free and prosperous America. We achieve this through original research to inform practical policy solutions, providing federal policymakers with the information they need to promote growth and opportunity for all Americans.
The Operations Manager will have the opportunity to join a dynamic policy organization and work directly with EPIC’s leadership, ensuring smooth operations and supporting a growing team. This role will be primarily in-person at our Capitol Hill offices and report to the President & CEO and Executive Vice President.
Responsibilities and Duties
The Operations Manager will:
- Serve as a point person for the EPIC leadership team in strategic planning. He/She will be highly focused on driving process and efficiency for EPIC’s operations.
- Coordinate events and assist with logistical planning for the organization, including high-profile conferences, Hill briefings, and off-the-record lunches.
- Maintain an internal coordination calendar by mapping out EPIC’s planned work product releases, media, and events and overlaying this with EPIC’s planned policy campaigns throughout the year to ensure maximum impact and reach.
- Work with outside consultants on prep for media engagements.
- Maintain a deep understanding of EPIC’s work product, and contribute to EPIC’s external monthly updates to donors and key partners.
- Handle scheduling and travel for EPIC’s President & CEO and Executive Vice President.
- Maintain exceptional professionalism with guests and stakeholders by phone, email, and in person.
- Work closely with the Chief of Staff to hone office processes and ensure office operations are running smoothly and effectively.
Qualifications
- 2 to 5 years of experience in an operations-focused role is preferred.
- High-energy and positive demeanor.
- Demonstrated organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Utility player who can anticipate needs and work proactively to provide solutions.
- Capacity for big-picture thinking and ability to shape strategy in forward planning.
- Ability to maintain professionalism with high-level stakeholders, as well as exercise discretion and good judgment.
- Strong writing skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and ability to learn new platforms, including but not limited to Visme and Canva.
- Capacity to handle multiple projects in an active environment with a small but growing team.
- A belief in free markets, limited government, and a faith in the capacity and ingenuity of the American people.
Salary
The projected salary range for this role is $80,000-85,000, contingent upon the specific skills and experience of the selected candidate. We are also willing to explore higher compensation for an exceptional candidate or a lower range for a promising, less experienced candidate.
Dependent upon experience level, this role has the potential for expansion with additional duties and responsibilities, to include greater management of daily operations and event planning.
