About the Organization
Young Voices’ mission is to cultivate the next generation of thought leaders for liberty in policy, journalism, and academia. Founded in 2013, Young Voices mentors and promotes 100+ pro-liberty communicators each year through our flagship Contributor Program, placing hundreds of media hits per month in print, digital, radio, and television outlets.

Our writers make the principled case for liberty to millions of readers across mainstream and emerging media. We also host the Dissident Project, a speakers bureau for immigrants who escaped tyranny and now share their stories with students nationwide.

As we look toward 2030, Young Voices is focused on building influential storytellers and emerging public intellectuals — voices capable of shaping national conversations through both ideas and narrative journalism.

About the Role
Young Voices is seeking an Editor to lead the development, coaching, and placement of contributor content across two core lanes: traditional op-eds and emerging narrative-driven journalism.

This is a high-impact editorial role responsible for helping contributors succeed not only as opinion writers but as story-driven communicators capable of turning policy ideas into compelling, human-centered narratives that resonate with broad audiences.

The ideal candidate is an experienced editor or journalist who has worked across both opinion and reported or narrative formats, and who is excited about the opportunity to help build a new generation of liberty communicators capable of shaping public debate through both argument and story.

The Editor reports to the Director of Programs and works closely with the broader Programs and Communications teams. This is a full-time, in-person position based in New York, NY, or Washington, DC, with flexibility for 2 days of remote work per week. Some travel (up to~15%) may be required.

This role is being offered in conjunction with the Koch Associate Program (KAP). Candidates are strongly encouraged to apply to KAP, though admission is not a condition of employment.

  • Prioritize high-impact placements and coordinate with communications staff on amplification
  • Advise contributors on how to position ideas for editorial success
  • Develop and maintain relationships at top-tier media in NY and DC

3. Coaching & Talent Development

  • Coach contributors directly on writing, pitching, and storytelling
  • Run trainings and workshops on persuasive writing and narrative journalism
  • Identify high-potential contributors and help accelerate their development
  • Support contributors in developing voice, expertise, and long-term direction

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in journalism, editorial work, or media production preferred
