ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION

The Open Therapy Institute (OTI) addresses a growing and largely unspoken problem in mental health care: socio-political bias undermining clinical practice, professional training, and patient trust. Bias can arise around issues of self-censorship, masculinity, gender, faith, and other topics. Every year, countless patients experience poor care due to therapist bias—from political comments in sessions, quiet judgments, values misalignments, or overt activism. Many patients accept subpar care, struggle for years to find appropriate care, or forego therapy entirely. We work to address bias in four steps: 1) build scholarship through our academic journal, 2) advance ideas through trainings for professionals and media engagement, 3) build a professional community through our membership program, and 4) help patients find a therapist who’s attuned to their values.

POSITION SUMMARY

OTI is seeking a Marketing Specialist to support day-to-day marketing execution across social media, website updates, digital content, email communications, reporting, and marketing operations. This role is ideal for a strong generalist who is organized, writes well, and enjoys turning ideas into consistent execution across multiple channels.

The Marketing Specialist supports OTI’s marketing and outreach efforts by owning execution work across digital platforms and marketing systems. This role helps ensure that social media, website content, newsletters, collateral, and reporting are handled consistently, thoughtfully, and on time.

This is a highly execution-focused role designed to create capacity for senior team members to focus on strategy, scalability, and growth. It is also a strong opportunity for someone who wants to grow over time, take on greater ownership, and develop alongside an evolving organization.

Success in this role will be measured by reliability of execution, quality of content, strong organization of marketing assets and systems, and improved consistency across OTI’s public-facing channels.

This is a full-time, fully remote role reporting to the Head of Marketing and Growth and working closely with other team members on content, outreach, and brand execution. It is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to join a growing organization at an early stage and help build the marketing systems and consistency that support long-term growth.
