About the Organization

Young Voices (joinYV.org) is a nonprofit talent agency for classical liberal writers, commentators, and creators, ages 18-35. Our mission is to discover, develop, and deploy influential voices for freedom. In pursuit of that mission, we run programs including the Contributor Program, Dissident Project, and Liberty Comms Lab, in which we provide free PR services to individuals and organizations in the liberty movement.

As we look toward 2030, Young Voices is focused on building influential storytellers and emerging public intellectuals — voices capable of shaping national conversations through both ideas and narrative journalism. That includes the Liberty Comms Lab, the newest addition to Young Voices’ suite of programs.

About the Role

Young Voices seeks a Program Manager for the Liberty Comms Lab (LibertyCommsLab.org), our PR training and consulting program for the liberty movement. This position is suitable for a confident, proactive, mid-career operator with experience in the PR, Communications and/or nonprofit program management arenas.

The Liberty Comms Lab launched in 2025 as a year-long initiative for European free-market think tanks, run by Young Voices’ staff. In 2027, we expect it to have multiple classes running simultaneously across Europe and the US, including a new ‘coordinated messaging coalition’ for US influencers. We expect this campaign – a hands-on, Young Voices-led initiative involving weekly touchpoints with participants – to begin in January in 2027, so the successful candidate will need to be ready to hit the ground running.

The Program Manager will own planning and delivery for the Liberty Comms Lab. They will act as a PR consultant to the individuals and organizations taking part in LCL, working closely with them and Young Voices’ in-house team of communications professionals to help participants create and execute their PR plans, hone their messaging, level up their brands, and improve their skills through tailored training webinars, in-person summits, and 1:1 consulting calls.

Reporting to Young Voices’ Director of Programs, the Program Manager’s role combines practical communications work with close attention to people, deadlines, and results. They should be comfortable leading delivery of a major program, including managing classes of participants, working across teams and systems, and originating and delivering training curricula and materials.

This is a full-time position based in person at Young Voices’ Washington, DC, or New York, NY offices, or virtually from anywhere in the U.S. Some domestic travel is required, and some international travel (to Europe) may also be necessary.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recruit and support participants. Coordinate applications, interviews, selection, and onboarding for creators and partner organizations. Build an active coalition through group discussions, regular check-ins, and opportunities to collaborate and amplify one another’s work.
  • Run digital campaigns. Work with the Programs team to identify timely policy topics, set publishing plans, and adapt ideas to each participant’s audience and voice. Keep content aligned with Young Voices’ priorities of free speech, free enterprise, and innovation.
  • Provide practical communications coaching. Assess participants’ channels and workflows. Help them improve messaging, storytelling, short-form video, and content planning. Bring in Young Voices colleagues for specialist editorial, broadcast, and digital support.
  • Deliver organizational training and consulting. Work with the Programs team to recruit think tanks, diagnose communications needs, set goals, organize webinars and in-person training, and help participating think tank staffers develop as public-facing spokespeople and creators.
  • Keep delivery accountable. Actively manage classes of participants and assist with reporting on data and achievements. Maintain clear schedules and participant records, collect live content links, and address missed commitments. Verify completed work.
  • Measure and improve results. Track publishing commitments, organic reach, engagement, and participant progress. Maintain reporting records and supply timely results and analysis to colleagues. Use what works to improve campaigns, training, and repeatable program workflows.
  • Program administration. Write participant agreements, coordinate honoraria invoices, and assist with other administrative tasks as needed.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in communications, digital campaigns, creator relationships, or managing nonprofit programs.
  • Strong communications skills and editorial judgment, with the ability to turn complex policy ideas into clear, engaging messages for different audiences, content formats, and platforms.
  • A working knowledge of op-ed writing, editing & pitching, social media platforms, video production (especially short-form vertical video), audience development, and performance analytics.
  • Strong initiative, organization, and follow-through, including managing classes of participants, deadlines, and competing priorities.
  • The confidence to coach participants, lead remote webinars and in-person workshops, build trust, give constructive feedback, and hold participants accountable.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Deep alignment with Young Voices’ pro-liberty mission.
  • Preferred: Experience delivering workshops or consulting, working with think tanks or other liberty organizations, or coordinating international programs.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with CRM systems including HubSpot and Salesforce, and relevant PR monitoring and reporting tools.
  • Preferred: Enthusiasm for incorporating AI tools into innovative workflows, such as automating routine tasks and creating custom dashboards as needed. (Technical knowledge not required.)
  • Ability to travel up to ~25% as needed.

The salary range for this position is $75,000 to $95,000, commensurate with experience. Benefits include health and dental insurance, 401(k) match (5% after one year), unlimited paid time off, and a flexible remote or hybrid work policy.
