Liberty is under attack on college campuses — and our freedoms are never more than one generation away from extinction.

Young Americans for Liberty (YAL) is the largest grassroots liberty organization on America’s college campuses.

YAL is seeking a charismatic warrior for liberty to serve as the tip of the spear for our Campus Department. Are you the leader we’ve been looking for?

We’re searching for a principled patriot inspired by Dr. Ron Paul’s conservatarian philosophy — someone who believes that peace, prosperity, and quality of life flourish when government is limited and individual liberty is protected. Someone who is intrinsically motivated by our big, hairy audacious goal of leading 10,000 activists to take action for liberty in 2026.

The ideal candidate is relentless on the phones and can train others to be as well. They are  passionate about inspiring student activists, and skilled at building high-performance teams. This person is ego-free yet bold, ready to rise to the occasion of leading the movement shaping the future of America’s youth.

As National Field Director, you will oversee the team responsible for identifying, educating, training, and mobilizing YAL’s nationwide network of student activists — including both full-time Regional Directors and our State Chairs, the top student leaders on campuses across the country.

You will be responsible for hiring and managing staff, helping to set strategic direction, and building a winning culture that ensures liberty is advancing on campuses year after year.

This is an in-office position based in YAL’s Austin, TX office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Hire, train, and manage YAL’s full-time Regional Directors.
  • Oversee and grow the State Chair program, empowering top student activists to lead on their campuses.
  • Cast a bold, inspiring vision to mobilize the next generation of liberty-minded leaders.
  • Drive a high-energy, sales-oriented culture in our Austin, TX office that enrolls thousands of young Americans into the liberty movement.
  • Develop and deliver impactful training programs — both virtually and on stage at major national events.
  • Take full ownership of Regional Director and State Chair performance, including strategy, execution, and results.

Compensation & Benefits

We are prepared to offer exceptional candidates a top salary for this role commensurate with experience. Please include your salary requirements in your cover letter.

YAL offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes:

  • Health coverage (including dental and vision)
  • Health Savings Account (HSA) for eligible plans
  • Short- and long-term disability insurance
  • Life insurance
  • 401(k) with up to 4% match

  • Relocation assistance to move to Austin
