About Libertas

Libertas Institute is an award-winning think tank with an 87% track record seeing its recommendations become law. We operate both as a state-based think tank in Utah—where we innovate policy reforms in a receptive legislative environment—and as a national institute,  exporting our policy victories to other states to help partner groups and legislators replicate our reforms.

About the Role

The State Government Affairs Director will play a pivotal role in expanding Libertas’ influence beyond Utah, driving policy victories that advance liberty across the United States. Reporting to the Director of Public Policy, this full-time, remote position combines strategic advocacy, legislative relationship-building, and team leadership.

The Director will be responsible for crafting and executing multi-state strategies that secure measurable policy wins, while building a strong national network of legislators, partners, and advocates aligned with Libertas’ vision.

The right candidate thrives in entrepreneurial environments, moves with urgency, and has the credibility to be a trusted voice in state capitols across the country. Success will be measured not by access or activity, but by the ability to consistently deliver legislative outcomes that expand freedom and opportunity.

  • Self-starter who thrives in dynamic, lean environments and creates opportunities where none exist.
  • Deep belief in individual liberty and ability to collaborate respectfully across ideological differences.

You will get:
