Who are we?

The Foundation for Research on Equal Opportunity (FREOPP) is a nonpartisan, nonprofit think tank dedicated to expanding opportunity to those who least have it. We champion ideas that allow people to create, build, and rise, using the tools of individual liberty, free enterprise, technological innovation, and pluralism.

As FREOPP launches major new strategic initiatives, including the Center for Safe & Stable Futures, we are expanding our capacity to communicate boldly, clearly, and consistently across platforms. This role will help shape the public face of that work.

The Position

We are seeking a dynamic, strategic, and creative marketing leader to build and execute FREOPP’s marketing and brand strategy across our growing portfolio. This person will be responsible for elevating our visibility, sharpening our message, and ensuring our research and policy work reaches the audiences who need it most- from allies in Washington, DC and state capitals to the communities impacted by the policies we aim to improve.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of strategy and execution, can translate complex ideas into compelling narratives, and is energized by getting things done. We are a growing organization and see this position as critical to that growth.

This role will report to the Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer. It can be executed virtually anywhere in the United States; all of FREOPP operates virtually.

  • Collaborate with policy and leadership teams to ensure messaging reflects FREOPP’s mission and the rigor of our work.
  • Manage editorial calendars and shape the cadence of external communication.

Social Media & Platform Management

Cross-Organizational Leadership

  • Serve as a strategic thought partner to senior leadership on narrative, positioning, and brand opportunities.
  • Build light infrastructure: systems, templates, workflows that support long-term organizational scale.

  • Brings curiosity, initiative, and a drive to create value without waiting for direction.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Someone earlier in their career (2-6 years’ experience) but hungry to grow into a senior leader; or a mid-level leader (6-10+ years’ experience) ready to take on broader responsibility in a high-trust, mission-driven organization.
  • A strategic marketer with strong instincts and a builder’s mindset.
  • Someone who is energized by and aligned with FREOPP’s mission and the opportunity to help shape a brand with national influence.
