The Massachusetts Fiscal Alliance and the Fiscal Alliance Foundation work together to advance fiscal responsibility, transparency, and accountability in state government. The Massachusetts Fiscal Alliance (501(c)(4)) drives advocacy and public engagement to promote social welfare, while the Fiscal Alliance Foundation (501(c)(3)) builds public awareness through legal work, research, and partnerships with leaders and influencers. Together, we inform, educate, and inspire action for a more fiscally responsible and transparent government in Massachusetts.
Position Overview
This position will support the fundraising efforts of both the Massachusetts Fiscal Alliance (501(c)(4)) and the Fiscal Alliance Foundation (501(c)(3)), with work and time allocated between the two in accordance with applicable regulations. This role will report to the Executive Director and is a full-time position. It can be based either in Boston, MA or, for the exceptional candidate, virtually in New England. Virtual candidates will be expected to come to the office 3-4x per month.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the Executive Director in meeting annual fundraising goals
- Assist in managing donor relationships and identifying new prospects (business leaders, foundations, corporations)
- Conduct prospect research and prepare briefing materials
- Help draft donor communications, including solicitation letters and monthly email campaigns
- Maintain donor data in CRM and ensure list accuracy
- Coordinate logistics for donor events and campaigns
- Generate weekly/monthly fundraising reports and assist in board reporting
- Handle intake and processing of all physical donations mailed to the office
Qualifications
- 1+ years of relevant experience; internships may be considered experience
- Fundraising or development experience is a plus
- Excellent organizational skills and keen attention to detail
- Willingness to conduct outreach by phone
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Passion for and alignment with the mission of Fiscal Alliance Foundation
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Comfort working in an issues advocacy environment
- Understanding of the mission and ability to communicate impact
- Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
- Ability to travel approximately 10%
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $55,000–$64,000 (commensurate with experience)
