About the Role
Reason Foundation is seeking an Operations Manager to join their growing organization. The position is a full-time, on-site role based in Washington, D.C., responsible for on-site facilities management, event support, and administrative/operational support for the institution. Key duties include serving as the first point of contact for visitors and vendors, coordinating office maintenance and IT support, and overseeing operating systems management and tracking.
Ideal candidates will have 2–5 years of experience in office administration, operations, or event support, strong organizational and communication skills, and a customer service mindset, along with a commitment to Reason Foundation’s mission.
This individual will report directly to the Vice President for Advancement, Jackie Pyke. This role is based in Washington, DC. Due to the nature of this position, it is not eligible for remote work.
Responsibilities
Facilities Management
- Serve as the first point of contact for visitors, building maintenance, vendors, deliveries, and incoming calls.
- Coordinate scheduling and logistics for in-office meetings.
- Schedule and oversee any maintenance or renovation projects.
- Point of contact for the security company.
- Oversee in-office supplies and equipment, ensuring everything is stocked and operating smoothly.
- Coordinate with outside IT service provider for troubleshooting IT issues and concerns.
Events Support
- Provide on-site support for Reason events and other D.C.-based activities, including managing RSVPs, catering, and day-of execution.
- Facilitate the shipment of event supplies for conferences, etc.
Administrative/Operations
- Facilitate new hire onboarding, including desk management and set up, key card activation, and equipment needs.
- Manage equipment tracking.
- Work with Reason’s printing vendor for mass mailings.
- Assist with in-office printing and mailing.
- Manage sales tax exemption status in every state.
- Assist with day-to-day operations and provide administrative support to staff as needed.
Qualifications
- 2-5+ years of experience in an administrative, office coordination, or events support role.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Comfortable juggling multiple tasks and working independently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and Google Docs.
- Customer service mindset.
- Commitment to Reason Foundation’s mission and principles.
Compensation
The projected salary range for this role is $60,000-80,000, depending on skills and experience.
