Annual Giving Coordinator
Pacific Legal Foundation
Virtual

You: A confident, proactive self-starter with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to serve as a vital link between our supporters and the development team. Your role is to provide an outstanding donor experience that will help build and deepen donor relationships. One that not only expresses gratitude but also reinforces the impact and importance of their investment.
Them: Bureaucrats, city councils, mayors, governors, and federal agencies stripping Americans of their rights every day. There’s a lot of government overreach out there, and it’s backed by seemingly endless resources. But fortunately, like all lumbering giants, abusive government is most vulnerable when countered by individuals who act strategically and nimbly, take calculated risks, have each other’s backs, work together to achieve, and are confident in, and passionate for, the cause of liberty—the very sort of swashbucklers we employ in spades here at PLF.
Us: We fight back. Pacific Legal Foundation is the nation’s first and most successful public interest law firm dedicated to vindicating individual liberty. PLF has an unmatched record in the U.S. Supreme Court, with 18 victories at the Court. We also have more than a hundred active cases across the nation.
We are a next-generation public interest law firm. What does “next generation” mean for a legal nonprofit? It means we aren’t interested in doing the same thing as everyone else. We aspire to be the best player in a constantly changing game.
Here’s what you get to do in this role:
In this role, you’ll carry out and manage a thoughtful, well-executed stewardship process that ensures every PLF supporter feels genuinely thanked and clearly understands the impact of their gift.
You will also manage a portfolio of approximately 600 donors in the $1,000-$5,000 range that will also grow to include some major donor stewardship. You will be their point of contact at PLF, and you will be answering their questions, updating them on their interests, and thanking them for their support to maximize donor retention and upgrades
Your commitment to donor cultivation and stewardship will help build the foundation for a supporter’s long-term relationship with PLF
This is a full-time, permanent position reporting to PLF’s Director of Stewardship and Operations. This is a fully virtual role that can be based from anywhere within the U.S.
In practice, your specific job duties will likely include:
- Donation and Stewardship Management—Ensuring a top-notch donor experience for acknowledgment and stewardship of contributions while adhering to the highest standards of accuracy and timeliness. This includes collaborating with Development staff on follow-up and personalization opportunities
- Customer Service Management—Develop and maintain a process for handling donor inquiries, issues, and stewardship in accordance with the highest levels of customer service. Demonstrate an empathetic disposition and perseverance; reflect an optimistic and positive attitude and convey sensitivity to the needs of our donors. Inspire a donor-first culture within Development and across the organization, ensuring that PLF consistently delivers a “wow” experience to donors
- Donor Record Management—Maintain accurate, updated donor records by ensuring that all donor interactions are recorded in our development database. Develop and manage a process to reengage lapsed mid-level donors, while identifying those with increased giving potential for targeted cultivation and prospect research
This role is ideal for someone with:
- 2+ years of experience in fundraising or sales, preferably in customer relations; relevant internships will be considered experience
- Passion for fundraising and for the ideas of freedom and individual liberty will be crucial in communicating with PLF supporters
