The American Institute for Economic Research was founded in 1933 as America’s first independent research institution dedicated to sound money, free-market economics, prosperity, and peace. The intellectual and donor legacy at AIER is immense. Its reputational capital is impeccable. It is now in an exciting growth phase, and is poised to be even bigger, with high reach in media and a fast-growing staff in our beautiful Great Barrington, Massachusetts, home. The Development Director can work from a virtual office anywhere in the country or may work from our Great Barrington headquarters. Great Barrington rests in the heart of the Northeastern corridor, just over 2 hours from both New York City and Boston, just over an hour to Hartford, and under an hour to Albany.
AIER is seeking an experienced fundraising professional to help take the organization to its next level of growth. AIER’s long history, excellent reputation and large database of donor prospects offer an extraordinary opportunity for donor cultivation. The ideal candidate for this role will be a solid manager who is self-motivated, organized, and professional.
Currently AIER has no on-staff development director or team. We have outsourced our fundraising letters that have been very successful even though we’ve only embarked on this effort in 2018. There is a limited staff to assist the new development director, but the goal is to build an in-house development team. This really is a new beginning with nothing but upside.
