Open Therapy Institute (OTI) is a nonprofit addressing socio-political bias in mental health care. We focus on issues often neglected because of bias, from the mental health costs of self-censorship and men’s issues to transgender and faith issues. We work toward this goal in four steps: 1) build scholarship with our academic journal, 2) advance ideas through trainings for professionals and media engagement, 3) build a professional community through our membership, and 4) help this community connect to the millions of patients who are poorly served because of bias in the field.

OTI is seeking an Outreach and Marketing Director to drive growth in therapist membership and patient engagement through strategic marketing, branding, advertising, and outreach to professional organizations. This role owns how OTI attracts, engages, and converts both professional and patient engagement across digital platforms, partnerships, and public facing channels. This is a remote, full-time role reporting to the President and working closely with the Vice President of Operations and Administrative Manager. This role can be executed virtually from the United States.

Compensation will be commensurate with experience. The initial salary range for this position is $70,000–$90,000, depending on experience.

Summary

The Outreach and Marketing Director is responsible for growing OTI’s membership and increasing patient connections by leading organization-wide marketing and brand strategy. This role ensures that all communications, campaigns, and outreach efforts are aligned to clear growth goals while remaining grounded in OTI’s mission and values.

Success in this role is measured by sustained growth in membership, patient inquiries, and engagement with OTI’s programs, workshops, and resources. While the role is highly strategic, it is also hands-on, particularly as OTI continues to build internal capacity.
