About Do No Harm:

Do No Harm (DNH) is a membership nonprofit made up of physicians, nurses, medical students, patients, and policymakers focused on keeping identity politics out of medical education, research and clinical practice. We believe in making healthcare better for all – not undermining it in pursuit of a political agenda. Do No Harm seeks to highlight and counteract divisive trends in medicine, such as “Diversity, Equity and Inclusion” and youth-focused gender ideology.

About the Role:
The Senior Editor and Director of Publications is a dynamic self-starter who aligns with our belief that we must protect healthcare from the infiltration of woke ideology and radical identity politics.

This individual oversees the development and quality of daily content that Do No Harm uses to communicate its mission and vision to various audiences, including members, funders, legislators, policymakers, and various other organizations.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Write and edit content for Do No Harm’s public-facing materials, which can include e-newsletters, website content, scripting, and occasional articles.
  • Manage Do No Harm’s publications calendar, taking inputs from research/programs and Do No Harm’s media relations teams to ensure necessary coordination for releasing new research products.
  • Act as the main point of contact for Do No Harm’s external media relations vendors to facilitate the development of press releases, memos, and other related stories.
  • Inform and execute Do No Harm’s vision and mission in all messaging and publications.
  • Determine a story’s audience, emphasis, length, and format, and organize material accordingly.
  • Review and evaluate notes and reports to fact-check and isolate pertinent facts and details.
  • Research and analyze background information to ensure accuracy when needed.

Qualifications:

  • A combination of experience and education of 2-3 years of applicable hands-on work experience in writing, journalism, communications, or other closely related fields, and a Bachelor’s degree in journalism, English, or communications (additional qualifying experience may be substituted for education).
  • Strong writing skills (knowledge of English language, grammar, spelling, and punctuation) and attention to detail.
  • Strong critical and analytical thinking skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills to meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn.
  • Work with minimum supervision and handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Work independently and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
  • Effectively listen and communicate verbally.
  • Understanding of marketing and public relations.
  • Firm belief in equality before the law and a healthcare system that focuses on individual patients rather than identity politics.

To Apply:

To apply, qualified individuals should submit the following application materials in one PDF document:

  • Cover letter including:
