Attorney
National Taxpayers Union Foundation
Virtual or Washington, DC
National Taxpayers Union Foundation is seeking a motivated, passionate individual to join our Taxpayer Defense Center (TDC) as an Attorney. The TDC is our public-interest legal program protecting taxpayers’ rights and limiting government overreach, through strategic litigation against unconstitutional burdens on interstate commerce, administrative abuses against taxpayers, and retroactive and discriminatory taxes.
The Attorney will help us win in the court of law and the court of public opinion by researching issues and developments, finding and evaluating potential cases and clients, developing legal arguments and filings, and directing litigation. Activities will include day-to-day first chair of a set of cases, publishing high-impact research, being an issue resource for the media and other audiences, and helping our team problem-solve and succeed.
This is a full-time role. The attorney can work from NTUF’s Washington, DC office or virtually from anywhere in the United States.

- License to practice law in good standing (or able to obtain in short order)

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to the mission of defending taxpayers
- Ability to travel approximately 15% of the time
