The Center for the Analysis of Property Rights and Innovation (CAPRI) is a market-oriented research center focusing on instilling an appreciation and understanding of the workings of laissez faire capitalism. We are about to launch an academic scholarship program for undergraduate and graduate students to provide them an appreciation of workings of unfettered markets. This program will provide mentoring, classes, and reading groups for students, expose students to outside speakers, and encourage the formation of a student free-market club. The Associate Director will be a critical part of the launch and management of this new and dynamic program.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for market-based solutions, higher education, and working with students eager to understand how market solutions improve lives. Given the nature of the job, we are looking for a candidate who is personable, charismatic, and thoughtful.
(Please note that this is not an academic post and will not involve a teaching position within the university.)
The Center for the Analysis of Property Rights and Innovation is within the Jindal School of Management at the University of Texas at Dallas. UTD is a relatively young and rapidly growing institution, with some of the highest SAT scores in the state, a large number of National Merit winners, and given that we were founded by Texas Instruments, a focus on technology. JSOM is a highly ranked business school, often listed in the top 35 in various business school rankings. The Dallas area has a reasonable cost of living and Texas is one of the few states without an income tax.
