Our mission at the Mississippi Center for Public Policy is to advance the constitutional ideals of liberty and justice for all Mississippians by employing an evidenced-based approach to public policy whereby we advocate real conservative ideas with policy makers, members of the media, business leaders, the academic community, and private citizens.
Our vision is for Mississippi to be a place where entrepreneurs are free to pursue their dreams, parents are free to direct the education and upbringing of their children, citizens are free to express their conscience, government is limited, personal liberty and responsibility are treasured, free market solutions are preferred, and as many people as possible are free from dependence on government.
Our Beliefs are clear, simple and powerful:
- Limited Government (the constitution is our guide)
- Free Markets (competition and consumer choice produce the best outcomes)
- Strong Families (the wellspring of a civil society)
- Individual Liberty (personal, economic, religious)
- Personal Responsibility (a requirement of individual liberty)
After 25 years of advancing these causes, MCPP is entering into a new era of greater leadership in the lives of all Mississippians across the Magnolia State. We are preparing to fully leverage our past policy accomplishments and to accelerate our advocacy so we can take on the enemies of liberty – in whatever form they take. Whenever and wherever entrepreneurs, parents, families and citizens are prevented from reaching for the lives they have imagined, we’ll be on the job aggressively defending those Mississippians – including taking action to protect constitutional rights through the Mississippi Justice Institute.
