We are currently seeking a Major Gifts Officer to join our team and implement fundraising strategies to secure revenues for the Acton Institute. As Major Gifts Officer you will play a major role in our development operations and will: work closely with our Executive Leadership to set priorities and goals, to research and identify potential donors, cultivate donors and communicate and maintain relationships with current donors. Other duties include preparing presentations to deliver to potential donors and key stakeholders, and participating in events and other advancement activities as needed. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in generating revenue while working in a fast-paced and multi-faceted environment.  

The preferred candidate will possess: 

• Understanding and appreciation for Acton’s mission
• Minimum 7 years experience with a proven track record of setting and achieving fund raising goals  
• Prior professional experience with major donors, foundations, endowments and other advancement campaigns
• Successful relationship building skills
• Ability to give effective presentations to achieve desired results
• Persuasive communicator with excellent writing and speaking skills
• Ability to travel on a frequent basis
