Center of the American Experiment is Minnesota’s think tank. Its mission is to change Minnesota’s civic culture by promoting free-market, limited government policies. In addition to writing and commissioning papers, holding public meetings, and informing legislators, the Center engages in an aggressive outreach program including op-eds, radio ads, videos, emails, an active web site (www.americanexperiment.org), a quarterly magazine called Thinking Minnesota, Facebook, and more. Through these means, the Center brings conservative messages to millions of Minnesotans.
In the last year, the Center has exposed the failure of Minnesota’s “green energy” policies, worked to free public sector employees from unions, carried out an aggressive public campaign to relieve traffic congestion, promoted alternatives to four-year college degrees, exposed leftist indoctrination in the public schools, advocated free-market, lower-tax policies to aid Minnesota’s economy, worked closely with Minnesota’s legislature on health care and other issues, and much more.
The Center is looking for a Policy Fellow to work as part of our policy team and help to create and disseminate the Center’s messages. The Fellow will report directly to the Center’s President. American Experiment is growing, and the Fellow position offers tremendous opportunity for professional development.
The Policy Fellow will have the opportunity to work on a broad range of public policy issues such as health care, energy, transportation, economics, budgets, taxes, and state and local governance.
We are open to either an up-and-coming or a more experienced policy analyst. We plan to tailor the role around a person’s particular skills, abilities, and policy expertise and interests. Above all, we are interested in finding someone who wants the opportunity to grow and become a key member of the organization.
