About the Opening
The American Enterprise Institute (AEI) seeks an outstanding Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
The CFO will be responsible for oversight of all finance, accounting, and financial reporting activities, including materials for the Board finance, investment, and audit committees.
The CFO will be the principal advisor for management, research groups, and supporting staffs in managing financial resources. Responsibilities include budget formulation and management, financial modeling and planning, investment decision execution, and personnel and benefits cost tracking.
This position will work closely with research program coordinators and other management team members to implement finance and accounting improvements, and to explore how the financial staff can better support their operations.
S/he will build and supervise a strong team of four staff members, including a very capable Controller, with responsibility for accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and grants administration. The CFO also will ensure financial internal control systems and procedures to manage risk, support effective program implementation, and continued flawless audits.
The position requires a strong background in accounting, exceptional interpersonal skills, creativity, and great attention to detail. Ten or more years of progressive experience in finance/accounting positions, a degree in Accounting or Business Administration, and a CPA certification are strongly desired. Experience with 501c3 organizations and Intacct would be a plus.
