The Charles G. Koch Charitable Foundation seeks a Program Director for Higher Education. The Program Director for Higher Education will advance the Foundation’s mission through the development and implementation of strategy for the higher education program. The goal of the program is to increase the effectiveness of individuals and institutions in higher education to advance the Science of Liberty. The ideal Program Director candidate will be well versed in classical liberal thought and core economic concepts, comfortable with scholars and academics, have experience in academic administration and/or building University based centers at a PhD granting institution, be entrepreneurial, and self-motivated.
The Program Director for Higher Education will:
- Help build strategic portfolio of research and education projects that contribute to the understanding of how free societies advance the well-being of mankind
- Manage existing relationships with scholars and all university-based programs
- Help drive the creation of new university-based academic centers and help with the development of established academic centers
- Understand the difference between strategic philanthropic investment and charitable portfolio building
- Manage Program Officers and potentially one or two Koch Associates
The ideal candidate will have:
- 7+ years relevant experience at a PhD granting institution
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree
- PhD in economics, policy, political science, or a related field is preferred
- Experience with in-depth knowledge of core economic/market concepts
- Experience in or related to higher-education (including university administration, academic center, policy, or non-profit
- Demonstrated management experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Entrepreneurial spirit, humility, high sense of urgency, and a passion for liberty

Administrative Manager – Washington Legal Foundation – Washington, DC

The Washington Legal Foundation (WLF) seeks to hire an Administrative Manager to direct a variety of administrative duties for the office, including executing WLF’s online communications/outreach and overseeing basic computer maintenance.
Responsibilities include:
- developing content for the WLF website (www.wlf.org) and keeping site up-to-date
- developing email marketing strategy, including authoring and sending emails
- managing WLF’s online broadcast archives
- contributing to the development of new media strategies
- overseeing limited computer maintenance for the in-house computer stations
- updating software on computers
- troubleshooting computer problems
- assisting server consultant with new installations (server maintenance will not be a part of this role)
The ideal candidate will have:
- a bachelor’s degree in political science, communications or marketing
- minimum of 3 years of experience
- experience with new media
- good writing skills, attention to detail, and flexibility
- a background in administrative roles
- technical familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, Windows Operating System, Raiser’s Edge, Sphere Marketing Program, Adobe Acrobat Professional, and limited html formatting
